MORE PICS OF BABY

[June 18]

We were fortunate enough to have another ultrasound done. Now that baby Autumn is bigger her features are easier to see. During the ultrasound she was grabbing her feet. She is 25 weeks and 4 days in these pics. Autumn is healthy and moving around quite a bit. She even gets the hiccups sometimes. We can't wait to see her!

ROADTRIP: YOSEMITE

[June 19-June27]

Northern Cali, Nevada, Utah and Wyoming...these are the states we have been to so far. In Northern Cali (San Francisco) we stayed with Rona and her family. Her kids are the cutest and growing up so fast. They had fun jumping on the air mattress with Joel. Then we drove 3 1/2 hours east to Yosemite National Park. What a beautiful place. Awe inspiring! We have an amazing and creative God. That night we had planned to find a place to stay outside of Yosemite because it's pricey inside the park not to mention reservations fill up far in advance. However, it was getting late, so Joel decided to ask anyway and luckily there was a tent available in Camp Curry. It is my kind of camping, bathrooms close by and places to eat. The most interesting part about our stay in Camp Curry were the bear boxes. Bear boxes are large metal lockers just outside your tent. We were advised to put any item that had a smell (food, toiletries, etc.). We were not allowed to leave it in the tent or our cars. We were half expecting to see a bear with all the precautions we took, but no bears. From Yosemite we drove to Reno, Nevada and then to Salt Lake City, Utah. In Salt Lake City we went on a sky tram ride in Snowbird (which is supposedly the top rated Ski Resort in the US). The view of the mountains was beautiful until the wind started to pick up and hail began to fall. We were the only ones in the sky tram along with the tram director. He didn't instill any confidence that we would be alright, at times he seemed just as nervous and us. We were struck by lightening several times and I held on for dear life as Joel walked around the tram and took pictures. If we were on it any longer I think I would have cried. Why is it that we always get the thrilling rides? We are in Wyoming and on our way to Colorado Springs tomorrow. Our adventures have only begun!

EXPECTING!!!

Can you believe it?!? We are going to be parents! Yes, it was not completely planned, but definitely a blessing. We did say that we weren't planning to have a baby yet, but if it was God's plan we would be blessed. So, here we are at seventeen and a half weeks (our official due date is Sept 24th). The baby as far as we know, is healthy and growing right on schedule. Our next appointment is the 27th of April, at which we are hoping to find out the sex of our baby. We will keep you posted.

AMIAH JOLIE

Our friends Jason and Angela have one cute baby! Amiah (aka MimiBug, MimiSan, Mimi) is going to be 4 months this coming Tuesday. She is starting to sit up on her own and already wants to eat what we eat. Her favorite thing is splashing n her bath. J and Ang are blessed to have a baby who can sit through an entire church service without making a sound. We love you Mimi!

TOASTMASTERS PICNIC

[Aug. 2-Saturday] Not to long ago, Joel decided he wanted to sharpen his communication skills, so he joined Toastmasters. Toastmaster is a club where people practice public speaking to hone their communication and leadership skills. I attended one of his meetings and let me tell you from experience, it is nerve-racking. However, Joel has grown tremendously and I am encouraged by his courage to step out of his comfort zone.

Every summer Joel’s group hosts a summer BBQ. The food was yummy and we played a ton of games. Games...my kind of party!

CHAMPIONSHIP GAME!

[Aug. 3-Sunday] Go! Fight! Win! Joel’s flag football team made it to the playoffs. They won the first game with only 7 players and then played for the championship. Unfortunately, they lost by one point. It was a great game and everyone played hard. Until next season...

JOHN MAYER

[July 29-Tuesday] Joel was invited to a John Mayer concert in Chula Vista, San Diego. His friend one Haole (Jason) had two VIP tickets from his brother (who is also named Joel). I think I was more excited for Joel than he was when I found out that Colbie Caillat was opening for John. He said it was a lot of fun and that Jason was amazed by John’s guitar skills.
