[July 23-Wednesday] ATVs!!! We took an ATV tour through the forest and over muddy puddles. Oh course Joel had to drive through each one covering us in dirt and water. On our way through the forest, we stopped at a wild life park. There were spider monkeys, agoutis (large rodents), javelinas (small boars), toucans, birds, peacocks, and deer. We hiked to see an enclosed cenote. Then we drove to an open cenote (cenotes are everywhere) to swim. The guys ended up having a diving competition, while the girls hung out and enjoyed the refreshing water. This cenote did not seem to have any catfish, which I was thankful for. By mid afternoon the tour was done and we headed back to our hotel for lunch . We hung by the pool and took a stroll down the lazy river. That night we ate at the Brazilian restaurant. I was so tired I don't rememeber much about it. Joel says he thought the food was pretty good. The hotel had a nightly show-dancing and skits. Every night the theme is different. The theme that night was Mexican. They had Mexican carnival like games in the lobby where we played an intense game of Jenga. It had been a fun-filled day!
