HIDDEN WORLDS
[July 24-Thursday] Hidden Worlds is an adventure park full of activities. They took us deep into the Mayan forest on a cattle car. We all stood up trying to keep ourselves from falling over as the driver took turns and drove over dips in the dirt road. We finally reached our destination, where we rode SkyCycles. SkyCycles are bicycles suspended on cables at treetop level. The cable is one kilometer long and takes you down through caverns filled with natural rock formations and cenotes. Half way through, the ride led us to an enclosed cenote where we snorkeled. This cenote had a lot of fish-not only catfish, but tetra too. I almost had a panic attack. Joel did not hesitate to explore even the darkest areas of the cenote. After we zip lined through the forest, we ended up near another cenote. We had the choice of zip lining or repelling down into the cenote. We tried both, but ended up doing the zip line several times. Then it was time once again to snorkel and being that I almost died the first time, I wasn’t too thrilled about doing it again, but I did. Joel was in the water before anyone else was ready to go and I was the first one out at the end! On this trip, we met a family whose daughters (three of them) were teachers so right away we had a common bond. We also made friends with Cynthia-a worker there. She was very curious about Hawaii and the Hawaiian language. We taught her a couple of words and by the end; everyone was saying “Aloha.” I considered this trip our best by far! Diner was Italian, yummy. Later that night we watched the performance, the theme was “Broadway.” Another adventurous day!
